DESCRIPTION:Orchestra Santa Monica closes its 10th Anniversary Season with an exciting program of opera arias and symphonic operatic works.\n\nRichard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier Suite ("The Cavalier of the Rose") showcases the magical music highlights of the full opera\, a tumultuous and comical love story of princess Marschallin and her young lover Octavian.\n\nThe dramatic themes of Verdi's overture La Forza del Destino ("The Power of Fate") evoke the romantic story of Don Alvaro and Leonora as they elope to find love.\n\nSoloists Katherine Polit (soprano)\, Alejandra Martinez (mezzo-soprano)\, Nicholas Preston (tenor) and Abdiel Gonzalez (baritone) bring favorite opera arias by Mozart\, Verdi\, Puccini and Johann Strauss to life.\n\nTo celebrate the orchestra's 10th Anniversary\, all tickets are free!\n\nFor more concert information: orchestrasantamonica.org
