DESCRIPTION:Beginning January 1st\, Santa Monica restaurants will only be allowed to serve straws upon request\, and all disposable straws\, utensils\, and food containers must be marine degradable (i.e.no plastic).\n\n \n\nTo help our restaurants and the city make this transition\, the Chamber's Sustainable Business Council has invited city staff to our next regular meeting on Wednesday November 7th at 9:00 a.m. at the Chamber office to explain the new ordinance and share samples of marine degradable items you can use in your restaurants.\n\n\n\nFor more information on the ordinance\, click here.
