New State Laws on Organic Waste

Save the date for an interactive meeting with staff from Santa Monica's Resource Recovery & (R3) division.

This meeting is designed for food service businesses, in particular restaurants and hotels, to understand new state requirements for recycling or donating food and other organic waste.

Those requirements will require, among other things, Santa Monica businesses to

• recycle organic materials (food scraps, landscape materials) and
• recover and donate edible food, where applicable
