About Parent-Toddler Groups:
In our toddler groups, the children play together and are supervised by early childhood staff while the parents sit nearby talking together with the group leaders. Toddlers are within visual range and easy access at all times. The staff helps children develop early socialization skills while beginning the discovery of independence from their parent. Groups have eight to ten toddlers and their parents. Groups are put together according to the toddler’s age.
Some of the topics addressed in these groups are: separation, temper tantrums, sleep disruptions, beginning toilet training, travel, balancing the toddler's need for dependence and independence, and how to manage eating issues.
About ECPC:
ECPC has been providing parenting groups to the Los Angeles Community since 1970. We offer parent-infant groups, parent-toddler groups, parent-preschooler groups and parent-only groups, as well as individual parent coaching. Central to ECPC's philosophy is the importance of providing parents with the skills to address their child's developmental milestones. Our staff are licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Psychologists and Child Development Specialists who have a solid foundation in early childhood development. Our groups give parents the opportunity to meet and connect with other families, receive professional guidance and answers to all of their parenting questions and learn how to trust their own ability as a new parent. Our very high staff-to-participant ratio allows for individualized attention.
