We invite you to be part of the most critical and timely conversation happening in Southern California on the topic of equitable education and career opportunities, UNITE-LA's Civic Symposium. This event, being held on Sept. 29, 2023, will celebrate 25 years of collaboration. Leading national and regional business and education leaders will be setting an ambitious agenda focused on what is possible the next 25 years. As a sponsor, you will be recognized as an important partner committed to leading a vision for a thriving Los Angeles.

We recently confirmed national leaders from the Biden Administration:

Dr. Amy Loyd, Ed.L.D.
, Assistant Secretary for the Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education. Dr. Loyd oversees national programs related to career and technical education, community colleges, adult education and literacy, and correctional education. She is a leading expert in culturally responsive education and has extensive experience establishing career pathways and working with tribal communities.

and

Brent Parton
, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Acting Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration. A California native, Parton's research has led to the development of collaborative solutions for more equitable labor market and education outcomes for workers, students and communities. At the Department of Labor, Parton oversees workforce development, employment and unemployment insurance programs and advances the Biden-Harris Administration’s workforce and equity priorities.

The private sector is an integral partner and stakeholder in advancing innovative and impactful education and workforce efforts. From engaging in advocacy and advising on pre-apprenticeship, career pathway, degree and credential programs, to mentoring and providing work-based learning opportunities for our region’s rising workforce, businesses are addressing workforce shortages, diversifying their talent pools, improving job quality and preparing our region for the future of work.

Alessandra Lezama, founder and CEO of TOOTRiS, is an entrepreneur, immigrant and single mother. She is passionate about technology and supporting women in the workforce and as entrepreneurs. Lezama actively advocates for quality early childhood education. Lezama personifies what is possible when Los Angeles dreams big when it comes to building economic opportunity at scale.

It's not often we can celebrate the success of what happens when private, public, nonprofit and education sectors come together AND have the opportunity to dream about and shape what is possible over the next quarter century! You do not want to miss this unique, high-profile opportunity in front of Los Angeles' most influential collaborators and dreamers in Education and Workforce Development.
