Westside Ballet 'Masters of Movement' Special Performance / Gala

Westside Ballet of Santa Monica presents "Masters of Movement: Ballet through the Centuries"—a richly varied program showcasing the nonprofit company's pre-professional dancers, alumni, and guest artists at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage.

The Saturday evening Gala features  an extraordinary convergence of ballet's present and future stars. The Saturday evening Gala showcases New York City Ballet principals Tiler Peck—currently featured in Prime Video's acclaimed series Étoile—and Roman Mejia,  performing Jerome Robbins' celebrated "Other Dances" with live piano accompaniment. The program includes another Robbins masterpiece, "Circus Polka," and Justin Peck's "Bloom" performed with a live string quartet. Also featured will be 12-year-old prodigy Spencer Collins, who recently claimed the world's top youth dancer title at the prestigious YAGP Finals.

Westside Ballet will honor NYCB principal Andrew Veyette, an esteemed alumnus, with the Bravo! Award, while LA and Santa Monica First Responders will receive the Huntley Santa Monica Beach Community Service Award.

This compelling narrative of artistic legacy and mentorship reveals how established artists inspire the next generation, while also supporting a vital cause—a portion of proceeds will benefit Westside Ballet's Fire Relief Scholarships, assisting over 55 dance families who lost homes in the recent fires. 

For five decades, Westside Ballet has remained a cultural cornerstone in Los Angeles, nurturing the transformative journey from student to professional and passing artistic knowledge across generations.
